Gail Beth Welker, 64, of Nimrod passed away peacefully with her husband, daughters, son in love, grand daughters and her fur babies by her side at her home on October 8, 2023. Gail was a free spirit that loved fiercely and lived life to the fullest. She was spunky and never hesitated to tell it like it was. She loved her family passionately. She had a group chat with her daughters and grand daughters and they spoke everyday, all day about everything and nothing. It was a rare weekend that was not spent at one of her daughters homes. Gail loved to garden and loved canning her harvest even more. Picklefest was held annually at her home where she taught her children and friends how to make her famous "Uncle Roy Pickles". Gail worked as an office manager at Grandeur Fasteners where she worked from 1977-2003. She loved her Grandeur family and that love is shared by her children who enjoyed going to work with Gail often while they were growing up. She left Grandeur to open River Valley Tool with some of her Grandeur family where she worked for many years before retiring. Ever the "office manager" Gail taught her daughters how to maintain a "file cabinet" at home. Gail's kept pristine records in her filing cabinet which included everything from a yearly accounting of her canning season to the owners manual for the VCR she purchased in 1986. She was the best mama, best wife, best "GG", and best friend and she will be fiercely missed by all those that were blessed to have known her. She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Johnnie Forrest and her husband, Danny Marcum. Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 28 years, Rusty Welker; daughter Sarah Simone (William), grand daughter Abagayle Sutherland and great grandson Drake Garner, grand daughter Addison Sutherland; bonus grand children Marissa Simone, Jackson Simone, and Gavin Simone; daughter Phoebe Newhart (Harrison); sister Anna Berkey, nephew Mike Berkey (Kim), nephew Jake Berkey; sister in law Jo Welker, nieces Jamie (Christine) Wince, Erika Wince, and Ashley Wince; special cousin Christy Forrest (Trey), fur babies Joe and Simba, and a host of other extended family and friends A celebration of life will be held on October 12, 2023 at Nimrod Baptist Church at 1:00 p.m. followed by a pot luck dinner at the Nimrod Fire Department Building. Flowers can be ordered at Perry County Florist. Guests are encouraged to wear bright colors to celebrate Gail's life
