Obituary

Gary Zane Hall of Greer's Ferry died at home Aug 19th after a brave battle with cancer.
He leaves a wife of 49 years Brenda Gates Hall, a daughter Teresa Marie Hall and friend Misti Barner-daughter Kendyll, a sister Peggy Hall Carson husband Chris and nephew Zane Carson, "adopted" daughter Michelle Echols-children Dillon and MacKenzie who called him Papa G. Many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
He was preceded in death by parents Zane Grey Hall and Charnelsa James Hall, brother Zane Grey Hall-18 months, infant sister Charlotte Jean buried in Puerto Rico, and sister Pamela Hall Palmquist.
He was born in Jonesboro on February 9, 1948. In his early years he traveled with his parents during his father's 30 year Air Force career, where they lived in Guam, Puerto Rico, Sacramento, Washington DC, and finally Blytheville AFB. While a student at McClean High School in DC, he won third place in the science fair for electronic circuitry. He also built go carts and riding lawn mowers at the age of 16, as well as anything he could put an engine on. He joined the Navy in 1967 and saw many ports including Spain, Italy, and Greece. As a civilian, he became a certified electrician and owned Hall Heat and Air in Blytheville incorporating solar panels when he could. He drew up plans for an ultralight plane but his loving wife vetoed that project.
Gary was a man of many talents and creative solutions, but mostly used his talents to help others whether it was a problem with a car, boat, or house. He was a kind and gentle man who liked to fish and loved being with his family. He was a patient teacher and had a special relationship with his nephew-Zane, whom he taught to weld, drive a tractor, rebuild "their boat", and gave him the desire to Major in engineering.
A private memorial will be held with friends and family.
