George L. Gates age 75 of Danville passed away Thursday, May 2, 2019 at Chambers Memorial Hospital.

He was born January 30, 1944 in Whitmore, Arkansas to the late John & Clara Roberts Gates. He was retired from Wayne Farms.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Nina Sue Gates; brothers, JW, Thomas, and James Gates.

Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Helen Gates; sons & daughters-in-law, Russell & Monica Gates of Danville; Brian & Tammy Gates of Waldron; Jonathan & Michelle Gates of Belleville; Shawn & Katie             Gates of Dardanelle; grandchildren, Cassandra & Darryl Ward of Tennessee; Jacob & Shawna Gates of Danville; Skyla & Tyler Wagner of Van Buren; Shantel Gates of Waldron; Donavan Gates of Danville; Gage Gates of Jacksonville; Nicolas Vanderstoep of Colorado; Rebecca & Leah Price of Dardanelle; Jacob Vanderstoep of Dardanelle; Rowdy & Aaryn Gates of Oklahoma; Mackenzie & Seth Wagner of Russellville; nine great-grandchildren; brothers, Robert Gates of Dardanelle; sisters, Gladys Rosunbaum of Michigan; Mary Nell Harris of Moro, Katherine Miller of Russellville and Melba Palmertree of Danville; a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Graveside service will be 10:00 am Monday, May 6, 2019 at Earl Ladd Cemetery with Bro. Ricky Hunt officiating. Visitation will be 4:00 to 6:00 pm Sunday, May 5, at the funeral home.

Pallbearers include Russell Gates, Brian Gates, Shawn Gates, Jacob Gates, Virgil Palmertree, Donavan Gates, and Freddy Jones
