Gerald William Laswell, Dardanelle, was called home July 13, 2012. Born June 24, 1931, Gerald traveled extensively through his work with oil companies. In his retirement, Gerald founded The K-9 Hospice, a no-kill rescue to care for homeless, neglected, and abused dogs. Gerald was a strong advocate for pet adoption, no-kill shelters and spay/neuter programs in rural AR. Gerald was preceded in death by his wife, Betty. Left to cherish his memory are his sons Robert, Eric, and Alan; 9 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, other relatives, and many friends. A private graveside service will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made through Cornwell Funeral Home in Dardanelle, or made directly to a no-kill animal rescue.
