Gerald Leo Rickard age 79 of Plainview went home to be with the Lord on April 23, 2017.

He was born November 1, 1937 to the late Dayton & Lenora Jones Rickard of Reform, Arkansas. He served in the United States Navy from 1955 to 1957 and was the owner / operator of Leo Rickard Logging for 40 plus years. Some of his greatest achievements includes; being a loving husband, brother, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friends to all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and siblings; Ellis Rickard, twin brother, Cleo, Pansy Blaylock, Dewell Rickard, Verna Lee Hester and Vida Green.

Survivors include his wife of 60 years Veta Rickard; daughters, Lisa (David) Blankenship of Rover; Cindy Rickard of Perryville; Amy Rickard of Plainview; grandchildren, Todd (Brittany) Blankenship of Danville; Sarah (Brent) Burnett of Rover; Courtney (Jimmy) Elrod of Benton; Brittney Hance of Perryville; Shelby Westbrook of Perryville; Kaleigh, Lucas, and Summer Carter of Ola; great-grandchildren, Weston, Tatem, Drake, Isabella, Kale, Skylan, and Silas and many nieces, and nephews.

Graveside service will be 6:00 pm Thursday, April 27, 2017 at Walnut Bottoms Cemetery in Paron. Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 pm Tuesday, April 25, at Danville Cornwell Funeral Home Chapel.
