Geraldine White
Wynne, Arkansas 1925-2020
Geraldine White, 95, of Wynne (and Russellville 2012-2020), passed from this life on Tuesday, September 29, 2020. Geraldine was born June 16, 1925 in Paris, Mississippi to J.F. and Mary Moorhead Faust, Sr. She attended high school in Bruce, Mississippi where she met her future husband, Leonard. Her obvious beauty captured his eye from the start. They married in 1943 and she resided in Mississippi while Leonard served in the US Army and fought in WWII.
In 1947, Geraldine and Leonard moved to Wynne to establish White's Grocery Store. Geraldine was a supportive wife and wonderful mom to Pam, Linda, Ronald and Donald, providing a loving, warm home for her family. A talented seamstress, she sewed clothes and furnishings for her family and was often hired for her talent by others. She could copy any look without a pattern, rivaling the most well-known, popular designers. No household task was insurmountable for her; one time she disassembled her washer/dryer, fixed the noise and put it back together in perfect working order. She taught herself to upholster furniture by taking apart a recliner chair and sleeper sofa, updated the fabric, and reassembled both. Her masterful wallpapering skills led to her own business at age 60; she left a beautiful display of her talent in many homes and businesses in Arkansas, Florida and Texas. Geraldine was an excellent cook and prepared many delicious meals for her family and friends; she was especially lauded for her baking and holiday dessert spreads for everyone who visited to enjoy. By all definitions, she was a true self-taught artist.
Attentive and helpful, Geraldine was an ever-present mom for her children with school, extracurricular activities and special events. She was openly proud to be the grandmother of 10 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. A constant, good friend to many, she enjoyed socializing with her coffee group. She was a willing volunteer in church and civic activities, participating in Bible study fellowships, teaching children's bible classes, and helping prepare meals for church events.
Geraldine was preceded in death by her parents, and husband of 77 years, Leonard White. Survivors include daughters Pam Williams (Jim) of Little Rock and Linda Werner (Dr. Richard) of Houston, sons, Dr. Ronald White (Teresa) of Russellville and Dr. Donald White (Dianne) of Daytona Beach, 10 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, sister, Jimmie Mae Osbon of St. Petersburg, FL, brother, James Faust, Jr. of Memphis, and numerous nieces/nephews/extended family. Her family would like to thank the staff/nurses at Stella Manor Nursing Home in Russellville for their loving, diligent care of their mom, especially during the last week of her life.
A private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date; her ashes will be interred with her loving husband at Arkansas State Veteran's Cemetery, North Little Rock. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or online at
