Gwendolyn Littleton Shockley, 92, of Danville, AR passed away Wednesday, March 22, 2023 in Russellville, AR.

Gwen was born in Magazine, AR on August 27, 1930 to Dailey and Lillie Littleton. She was a member of the Lord's church and as long as her health allowed, she attended the Danville Church of Christ.

Gwen is preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Travis (Ted) Shockley, four brothers: Alvin Littleton (Nellie Mae), Dean Littleton (Jean), Roy Littleton (Melba), and Hubert Littleton (Leola), and one son-in-law Gregg Mathis.

Gwen leaves behind her children: Bob Shockley (Althea) of Russellville, AR, Patricia Mathis of Hope, AR, and June McLeron (Rocky) of Belleville, AR; 7 grandchildren: Michael Shockley (Joy) of Manvel, TX, Heather Whittmer (Jeff) of St. Augustine, FL, Thomas Mathis (Lauri) of Hope, AR, Lindsay Cox (Trey) of Fulton, AR, Rachel Whitbey (Bentley) of Dardanelle, AR, Kiley Burge (Chad) of Havana, AR, and Trevor McLeron (Hope) of Pottsville, AR; 12 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Gwen was a devoted wife and mother. If God was looking for a mold for a mother, he would have chosen her. She worked many years at Danville Head Start where she was best known to everyone as the BEST roll maker, both plain and cinnamon, ever known. She loved her many friends at the Millsap Senior Activity Center in Danville where she loved playing bean bag baseball, volleyball, canasta, and a little quilting. Her passion throughout her life was gardening and flowers. If you knew Gwen, you loved her.

Visitation will be held 5:00 to 7:00 pm Friday, March 24, 2023 at the Danville Cornwell Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 10:00 am Saturday, March 25, 2023 at the Danville Church of Christ. Burial will be at the Shepherd/Hale Cemetery in the Omega Community in Dardanelle.

Pallbearers include Michael Shockley, Thomas Mathis, Trevor McLeron, Rocky McLeron, Bentley Whitbey and Trey Cox.
