Harold Edward Evans age 89 of Bluffton, passed away Sunday, May 22, 2016 at Chambers Memorial Hospital.

He was born February 9, 1927 in Brooklyn, New York to the late Harold & Helen Evans. He was a member of the Rover Baptist Church, Navy WWII Veteran, and a photographer. He was preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Doris Hackett.

Survivors include his wife of 61 years Ruby Evans; son Timothy Evans and wife Denise of Aliso Viejo, CA.; daughters, Carole Evans of Plano, TX.; Susan Evans of Carrollton, TX.; Cynthia Abrams and husband Kern of Bluffton; sister Ruth Lusby of New York; 6 grandchildren and 1 great-granddaughter.

Funeral service will be 2:00 pm Thursday, May 26, 2016 at the Rover Baptist Church with Rev. Robert Harrison and Pastor Joseph Botwinick officiating. Burial will be at Bluffton Cemetery. Visitation will be 1:00 to 2:00 pm before service at the church.

Pallbearers include Nick Abernathy, Holden Raines, Timothy Evans, Kevin Abrams, Carlton Walton, and Jerry Donaldson.

Honorary pallbearers include Kern Abrams, Ray Donaldson and Dr. John Westwood.
