Harvey Eugene Shafer age 85 of Havana passed away Wednesday, July 26, 2023 at Mitchells Nursing Home while on Hospice Care.

Harvey was born August 16, 1937 in Alamosa, Colorado to the late Harvey & Eva Strain Shafer. He was a Navy Veteran.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Patty Jackson.

Survivors include his children, Richard Shafer of Fort Smith; Jennifer Shafer-Bancroft of Havana; Julie Hays of Indianapolis; GPop is also survived by his grandchildren, William and Buck Bancroft, JJ Bancroft, Caeleb Shafer, Sydney Hays, and Joshua Hays, great-grandchildren, Cadynce Jean and Layla Jai and bonus grandkids, JJ, Xavier and Christian; nieces, Shannon and Stephanie of CA.

Dad requested his body be donated to science.
