Obituary

Hattie Lorene Blankenship King, 80, a resident of Ola best known as Shorty or Nanny King, died Tuesday, August 21, 2012, at Dardanelle Nursing Center. She was born April 1, 1932, at Briggsville to the late James Ruben and Alice Roberta Spears Blankenship. Shorty, a Methodist, was a homemaker, a chicken grower, owner of King's Grocery, and an employee of both the Ola and Two Rivers School Districts. She is preceded in death by her husband, Bill King, Jr., and her son, Jackie King. She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Bill and Judy King, David King, Donna King, of Ola, Danny and Doris King, James and Sandra King, of Plainview, fifteen grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren, her sister Irene Nash, and many nieces and nephews and friends. Pallbearers are Shane King, Todd King, Mark King, Clint King, Kyle King, and James King. Honorary pallbearers are Bryan King, Will King, Tylor King, Taylor King, and Toby King. Graveside service will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday, August 23, at Sandlin Cemetery in Ola with Rev. Randal Gilbert officiating.
