Obituary

Helen Bailey age 93 of Russellville, passed away Saturday, July 26, 2025 at Saint Mary's Regional Medical Center. She was born July 20, 1932 in Frisco, Oklahoma to the late Joe Lee and Una Bell Sallee Lee.  She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 55 years, T.R. "Bo" Bailey; one sister, Mary Jo West and her brother, Alfred Lee.

Helen worked with Bo step for step. She traveled the country with Bo in the trucking industry, assisted Bo in his business at the pulp wood mill in Ola, and worked for several years cleaning the First Baptist Church, Yell County Courthouse Complex, and other area businesses.

The Bailey's were also great dancers, enjoying years with their dancing buddies from the area…even dancing in a few Dardanelle Christmas Parades. Many hours were spent at the Dardanelle Senior Center teaching and participating in line dance classes, or enjoying a Senior Center dance. Helen served her community, as well; from her many projects through First Baptist to working with the women of the local VFW. Many have been rewarded with her heart for service by receiving a meal, a ride, a crocheted throw, or perhaps a pie or cake when there was a need. Helen Bailey gave from what she had with an open hand, and gladly shared her opinions and advice. Faithful to God and family; a faithful member of her church and community for well over 60 years.

Survivors include her children, Joe Bailey (Paula) of Mountain Home, Nancy Rasmusson (David) of Russellville; one sister, Shirley Hobgood (Clyde); four grandchildren, Stephanie Melder (Chase), Allison Rasmusson, Reece Bailey (Brooke), Drew Bailey (Jaimie) and six great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 30, 2025, 5:00P.M. to 7:00P.M. at Cornwell Funeral Home Chapel in Dardanelle. Funeral services will be held at 10:00A.M., Thursday at the First Baptist Church in Dardanelle with Bro. Carl Fair officiating. Burial will be in Brearley Cemetery in Dardanelle.

Pallbearers are David Rasmusson, Reece Bailey, Chase Melder, Mark Thone, Dave Evans and Doyle McEntyre.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in honor of Helen Bailey to First Baptist Church, 118 S. Second Street, Dardanelle, Arkansas 72834.
