Celebrating the Life of Herbert James Horn July 25, 1931 – June 10, 2026.

Herb was born in Lonoke, Arkansas to his late parents Buford and Edna Horn. After graduation Herbert proudly served in the Air Force for 20 years. After her graduation, Dorothy Winchell joined him in Turkey where they were married on June 20, 1954, marking the beginning of a 71 year love story. While stationed in Bermuda they were blessed with two daughters, Jenny (Nolan Edwards) and Margaret (Steve Strickland). Durning his 20 years of service, he served 5 overseas tours of duty and 5 tours in the United States.

Herbert was very proud of his grandchildren: Savannah (Luis Lopez), Emily Langford, Megan Strickland, and Kent Strickland. He delighted in his great grandchildren: Dominic and Lexington Lopez and loved following their sports activities.

Herbert is also survived his sister Betty Horn Davis, and many nieces and nephews. His brother Bobby Eugene Horn preceded him in death.

After Herbert’s military career was completed, he moved his family back to Danville, Arkansas. Herbert opened his modest shop, HORNS WATCH AND CLOCK SHOP, which quickly became a beloved local business. He became a familiar face to everyone who visited. He was a devoted Ham Radio enthusiast, and faithful member of the First Baptist Church in Danville, Arkansas.

He will be missed by all who knew him. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the charity of your choice.

Funeral service will be 2:00 pm Friday, June 12, 2026 at the Danville First Baptist Church. Visitation will be 1:00 to 2:00 p, before the service at the church. Burial will be at Earl Ladd Cemetery. Arrangements by Cornwell Funeral Home Danville
