Herbert Underwood Herbert Lee Underwood age 83 of Dardanelle died Sunday, June 24, 2012 at Arkansas Hospice River Valley Home in Russellville. He was born February 27, 1929 at Mt. George to the late Millard and Ozie Smith Underwood. He was a member of the Dardanelle Church of Christ and a 32nd Degree Mason. He was a mechanic for the Highway Department for over 20 years. He loved to work in his garden, but most of all he loved his family. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Tolbert Underwood, Clarence Underwood and Leonard Underwood; sisters, Bertha Grigsby, Minnie Hacker; Nora Lee Pennington and Mildred Scoles. Survivors include his wife, Pauline Underwood of Dardanelle; his children, Larry Underwood and wife Nancy of Dardanelle, Tommy Underwood of Dardanelle; one granddaughter, Crystal Clay and husband Randy of Sherwood and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 10:00A.M., Wednesday, June 27, 2012 at Cornwell Chapel in Dardanelle with Ralph Weinhold and Steve Reeves officiating. Burial will be in Brearley Cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday, 6:00P.M. to 8:00P.M. at the chapel. Pallbearers: Sonny George, Bob Grace, Leonard Karl Keeling, Howard Orsburn, Jerry Tramel, Kevin Underwood. Honorary Pallbearers: William Reed and all of Herbert Lee's nephews.
