Obituary

Hoyt Reid Dale of Russellville, formally of Plainview age 91 left his earthly home to go to be with the Lord and his beloved wife, Willene Dale on April 11, 2024. Hoyt is preceded in death by his parents, Cecil R. Dale Sr. and Mildie Pennington Dale, and his wife of 45 years Willene Dale. The mother of his only child, Anna LaRue Dale-Wright. nephew, Jimmy Wells and niece, Robin Massingale.

Hoyt was born on January 8, 1933 at Dale Bend area near Danville, Yell County Arkansas. Hoyt was a 1955 graduate of the University of Arkansas majoring in accounting. He first worked for an accounting firm in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Then obtained a job in Little Rock for the Volcher Company. He did accounting and also was in charge of traveling to various conventions to display Volker's meat cutting knifes. He and his then wife LaRue and his daughter Debra moved to Russellville where he started Hoyt Dale CPA Inc and Dale Equipment Inc. Hoyt was very successful in his knife sharpening business for many meat packing companies all across the United States and in Germany. These knives were a special size and needed to be sharpened and packed to ship very carefully. Hoyt's CPA practice was very successful. When he married Willene in 1974, she went to work for him and helped build his business, they retired in 1993.

He then went into a partnership with his brother, "Jr." to start Power Line Farms which consisted of chicken houses. They hired Sam Soundara as manager. Hoyt also had at least seven rent houses which Willene and her nephew, Mike Cunningham looked after. Hoyt was a proud 1950 graduate of Danville High School. He often loved to tease Debra (who was a Plainview Panther) about taking it easy on his beloved Little Johns.

Hoyt was a member and elder of the Church of Christ in Plainview. Hoyt was a member of the Chambers Memorial Hospital board for many years as a financial advisor. He was a member of the Army National Guard and partipated in the Central High School Crisis.

Survivors include one daughter, Debra E. & Royce Agee of Plainview; granddaughter, Anna Marissa & Tyler Wells of Wooster; great-granddaughters, Piper Faye Wells and Briar Dale Wells; step-daughter, Dolores Bye of Centerville; step-son, Ron Bradford of Dardanelle; grandson, Bryan & Jessica Robinson of Russellville; great-granddaughter, Bylee Robinson; brother and sister-in-law, Cecil R. & JoAnne Dale Jr. of Russellville; nephews, Chris & Teresa Dale, Steven & Lelan Dale and Trent Ford all of Russellville; and many more nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be at 10:00 am on Monday, April 15, 2024 conducted by Cornwell Funeral Home and services will be held at the Cornwell Funeral Home Chapel in Dardanelle with Butch Gossett officiating. Graveside service will be held at Salem Cemetery in Plainview.

Pallbearers include Chris Dale, Steven Dale, Bryan Robinson, Tyler Wells, Aaron Dale and Randall Smith.

Honorary pallbearers include Royce Agee, and John Benjamin Hawkins.
