James Edward
Garrett Jr
April 8, 1943 – September 24, 2022
James Garrett, Jr
Whether you knew him as James, Jim, Jimmy, Pumpkin, Dad, Daddy or Papaw – knowing him was a blessing. He was a man that truly enjoyed the simpler side of life. He was thankful for each day and lived within a right is right and wrong is wrong frame of mind. From running a trip on a rig to the day to day tasks, he was singularly focused on taking care of his family and doing what he needed to do. He was God loving and God fearing and reminded us daily to count our blessings.
He spoke of simpler times but was far from a simple man. James was tough, gentle, hard, loving and unyielding in what he believed to be right. He walked in humility and would often tell folks that he made a ton of mistakes, screwed it up a lot and got it right a few times.
James leaves a special legacy for his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren to follow. Keep going, work hard, love deeply, ask for forgiveness and remember always that Jesus loves you. Until you see him again, just remember:
"Don't do anything I wouldn't do, if you do - name it after me."
