James Alton Parker age 82 of Belleville passed away on Saturday, August 28, 2021 at Chambers Memorial Hospital.
Alton was born August 5, 1939 in Bidville, Arkansas to the late Benjamin Franklin "B.F." and Mildred Arline Provence Parker. Alton was known for his passionate faith in his God, a true scholar of Biblical knowledge, and pride for his country! He was a Pentecostal Minister for over 40 years, retired from Whirlpool corporation after 19 years, where he was fondly known as "Big Al". Alton was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Edna Hope Parker; and brother, Doug Parker.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Wanda Lois Mabry Parker; son, Nathan & Anita Parker of Siloam Springs; daughter Tonya & Glenn Coots of Mt. George; son, Neil Parker of Danville; daughter, Davina & Jim Rogers of Belleville; sister, Maurine "Rene" Bettis of Hot Springs; brother, Milton Parker of Rudy; grandchildren and (spouses), Kanda Batchelor (Bryan), Anthony Geheb (Lauren); Eric Spielman Parker (Mercedes); Kyle Parker (Megan); Rochelle Holzman (Hayden); Kayla Parker; Kamara Carter-Barling (Tayler); and 18 great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:30AM on Thursday, September 2, 2021 at the Pentecostal Church in Fort Smith, AR. 3700 Kelly Hwy., Reverends B.J. Thomas, Ron Patrick and Jeff Henderson officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:30AM to 11:30AM Thursday, September 2, prior to the service at the church and from 5:00PM to 7:00PM on Wednesday, September 1, at Cornwell Funeral Home in Danville. Burial will be at 2:30PM at the Bidville Cemetery near Winslow.
Pallbearers will be: Bryan Batchelor, Anthony Geheb, Eric Spielman Parker, Kyle Parker, Hayden Holzman, Tayler Carter-Barling,
Honorary pallbearers will be: Glenn Coots, Jim Rogers and Eli Gilstrap.
