James Roland
Townsell
November 7, 2025
James Roland "Rollie" Townsell, aged 91, of Casa, went home to be with his lord and savior Jesus Christ surrounded by his family on November 7, 2025. He was born in Casa, Arkansas on June 5, 1934 to the late Tood and Cloma Townsell. A devoted member and Sunday school teacher at the Casa First Baptist Church, Rollie was known for his love of hunting and fishing (even though Brandon wouldn't take him back), particularly coon hunting with his friends while being a member of the Perry County Coon Club. He had a passion for sports, especially coaching and teaching basketball to children and he never forgot his 87-2 record. Rollie was part of the start up crew for Arkansas Craft, where he worked as a machinist of 34 years before retiring. He loved telling people of Jesus, witnessing for the lord, and visiting people to invite them to church. Rollie was the best weatherman his family had and they will miss his phone calls to each of them letting them know the weather was bad and headed, their way. In his 91 years he only admitted he was wrong a few times.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife of 57 years, Joyce Townsell, his brother Bobby Townsell, and his great-great granddaughter Fallon.
He is survived by his son, Larry Townsell, and daughter, Sharron Atkinson (Mike). Rollie leaves behind grandchildren Bradley Atkinson (Heather), Autumn Fulton (Chris), and Brandon Townsell (Meagan); great-grandchildren Makayla Eoff (Jonathan), Kylie Atkinson, Brylee Townsell, Easton Fulton, Kasen Atkinson, Jaxon Fulton, Kennedy Atkinson, Tyler Fulton, Maddox Townsell, Tinley Young, and Ashlyn McCrary; and a great-great grandson, Maverick; His siblings, Louann Rudkin (Bill), Jackie Townsell (Lila), and Louise Turnage (Buzz), along with his sister-in-law, Becky Townsell, also survives him, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will take place on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the Casa Senior Citizens Center. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, at the Casa First Baptist Church, officiated by Bro. Johnny Parrack. Burial will follow in Casa Cemetery.
Pallbearers will include Todd Townsell, Tab Townsell, Jay Townsell, Greg Rudkin, Chris Rudkin, Derek Rudkin, Jeremy Rainey, and Melvin Campbell. Honorary pallbearers will be Bobby Walker, Heavy Duty (Ronnie Holsted) and Steve Harrington.
