Obituary

James Russell Workman

On July 17, 2019, James Russell Workman took God's hand and went home. Born November 23, 1949, he was the son of James Roland Workman and Lillie Sue (Jones) Workman. Russell was a man of many attributes and talents. He was a Chief Warrant Officer II helicopter pilot in the Army and proudly served in the First Air Cavalry while in Vietnam. He went on to be an instructor pilot in Cobra gun-ships for three years in Hawaii. He was an artist, a cowboy, a carpenter, singer and songwriter.

Above all, Russell loved his family. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. If a man's wealth is measured by his friends, Russell was a very wealthy man.

He was preceded in death by his father, James Roland Workman; a brother, Jerry Lynn Workman; and a special daughter, Amanda Marie. He leaves behind his loving wife, Patricia Diane Workman; his mother, Lillie Sue Workman; sister, Deborah Walden; brother, Jeffrey Workman; two other brothers, Kenneth and Paul; two other sisters, Brenda and Cindy; his three children, James Workman, Jerry Workman and JoAnna Curtis; and eleven grandchildren.
