Janette "Jan"
George Richison
February 12, 1933 – November 12, 2023
Janette George Richison
Janette (Jan) George Richison of Danville, Arkansas went peacefully from her home on the farm to her home in Heaven on November 12, 2023. She was 90 years young.
Jan was born on February 12, 1933 to Claude Reid (Babe) and Fanny Blanche Compton George. The meaning of her name is 'God's gracious gift', and anyone who knew her will agree that she fully lived up to her name. To be around Jan was to be accepted, loved, and probably teased. She loved to make people laugh and she made Life a little more fun in countless ways!
Jan was a lifelong member of the Danville Methodist church, teaching Sunday School, VBS, and involved with the UMW. She was a Girl Scout leader and an active volunteer for endless school and community functions. Jan loved to open her home to others. She was an accomplished horseback rider and loved all animals, especially dogs. Her greatest strength was her ability to form lifelong relationships. Whether as a wife, daughter, sister, niece, mother, grandmother, or friend, she brought joy, love and laughter to us all!
She was preceded in death by her parents and her much-loved husband, Charles Edward Richison.
Jan is survived by her grateful children, Debra Richison (Bill) Stuckey, Frances Richison (Bill) Eubanks, and George Charles Richison, 9 grandchildren, Anna Frances Stuckey (Sam) Newby, William Compton (Jess) Stuckey, Rachel Stuckey (Sam) Slaton, William Thomas (Kerrie) Eubanks, Helen Debra Eubanks (Chad) Bartel, Janette Frances Eubanks (Nick) Stanford, Sarah Frances Richison, Katherine Ruth Richison, and Emily Ann Richison (Drew) Pendergraft. She has 19 great-grandchildren, Wyatt and Grace Newby, Amaelia and Eidolin Stuckey, Levin and James Casy Slaton, Addison, Emma, Averie, Liam Eubanks, Blake and Zane Bartel, Chandler, Sadie, Cole Stanford, Reid and Grady Richison, Compton and Georgia Pendergraft. She is also survived by her brother, Dr. Lary Compton (Phyllis) George and beloved nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral service will be 1:00 pm Saturday, November 18, 2023 at the Danville Methodist Church. Visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00 pm Friday, November 17, at the funeral home. Burial will be at Earl Ladd Cemetery.
