"J.C." John C. Frost age 77 of Danville passed, Thursday, September 2, 2021 at his home in Mt. George. He was born January 24, 1944 in Mt. George, Arkansas to the late Elbert Frost and Goldie Madden Frost.
At the age of six, J.C. helped his father cut down his first bee tree. He was hooked and continued to keep bees until he was 16, at which time he began driving big trucks. At the age of 26 he returned to beekeeping and grew it into a thriving business with his wife, Ruby. By the 1980's J.C. had the largest apiary in Arkansas and was featured on Traveling Arkansas with Chuck Dovish. During this time he had over 1500 hives and he continued beekeeping until his last days.
When JC had time away from work, he was an avid hunter, trapper, and fisher. He enjoyed teaching his son and grandchildren how to hunt, fish and keep bees. His family and friends know JC as the best of best when it comes to sharp shooting, self-proclaimed to have never lost a bet.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Glen Frost and one sister Gladys Tarkington
Survivors include his wife, Ruby Frost of Mt. George; one son, Terry Frost & Kimberly Anne of Mt. George; two sisters, Gerldean Mills & John of Dardanelle, Sherry McCoy & Kenny of Fayetteville; grandchildren, Bradley Frost & Ashlee of Pottsville, Brett Frost of Russellville, Tiffany Lane & Alec of Mt. George, Nicole Bruner of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Brittney Bruner of Glendale, California and great grandchildren, Kesler Frost, Sawyer Frost, Daylon Frost and Rylan Lane
Visitation will be held Tuesday, 9am – 10am at the Mt. George Church of Christ. Graveside services will immediately follow at the Frost-Dale Cemetery located on Frost Lane in Mt. George.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks for you to donate to the Mt. George Church of Christ Food Bank. Checks can be addressed "Mt. George Church" and be mailed to 10512 N. State Hwy 28 Danville, AR 72833 (or dropped off at the visitation). If you would like to donate electronically, you can call 479-968-3117 during regular business hours and ask for Chris George.
