Jerry Smith

Jerry Lynn Smith, 79 of Danville, passed away Friday, January 15, 2021 at Conway Regional Medical Center.  He was born March 15, 1941 in Danville, Arkansas to the late Cleo and Esther (Dow) Smith.  He retired after 40 years as a loan officer and senior vice president for Chambers Bank.  Previously he served for six years in the Arkansas National Guard and rose to the rank of sergeant. His hobbies were hunting, fishing, and going to the horse races.  He also enjoyed and tended to many animals, including his "granddog" Murphy. He loved to take trips to Branson, Missouri and enjoyed many meals at Chili's and Texas Roadhouse. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife, Frances (Huckaby) Smith; children, Amanda Turner (Len), Jason Smith (Penny); brother, C.L. Smith (Ann); 4 grandchildren, Maranda Turner, Hannah Smith, Lukas Turner, and Cody West; one great granddaughter, Alora West.

Funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 19th at the Danville First Baptist Church with Rev. Jamie Staley officiating.  The visitation will be at the church from 12:00-2:00 before the service.

Pallbearers include Luke Duffield, David Duffield, Matt Duffield, Chad Stanley, Phillip Alexander, and Jake Corbin.  Honorary pallbearers are the employees of Chambers Bank.
