Jim H. Roberson, 79, of Bluffton passed away Wednesday, November 20, 2024, at his home. He was born December 13, 1944, in Little Texas, Arkansas to the late William and Elsie Brown Roberson.
He was a member of the Mulberry Free Will Baptist Church since 1975 and an ordained deacon since 1977; a member of the Gravelly volunteer fire department and served as fire chief for many years; a member of the Arkansas National Guard; and retired from the U.S. Forestry Service after 35 years of service. Although he was a man of few words, Jim loved people and always helped in any way possible. He adored his nieces and nephews. Jim was respected for his integrity and always stood firm for God's word and His ways.
He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, R.B. Roberson, R.C. Roberson, Dan Roberson, Newt Roberson; two sisters, Mary Alice Blackwell and Martha Defoor.
His survivors include his wife of 58 years, Vickie Roberson; brother, Tommy Roberson (Mary); and many nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers include Joe Pickens, Jerry Hutchins, Tommy Roberson, Lanny Roberson, Shaun Rhoades, Joe Dishongh, Roger Taylor, and Dennis Duggan.
Honorary pallbearers are Billy Roberson, Denver Robinson, Tommy Franklin, Allen Austin, Ray Rhoades, Justin Abernathy, Joseph Rhoades, Troy Frayer, Mulberry church family, and Jim's nephews.
Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, November 22, 2024, at the Mulberry Free Will Baptist Church in Gravelly, Arkansas, with Bro. LaVan Robinson and Bro. Jason Frayer officiating. Visitation will be held from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm prior to the service. Lunch will be served at 12:00 pm. Burial will be in Parks Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be sent to the Mulberry Free Will Baptist Church.
