Jimmy Lee "Jim" McConnell age 75 of Carter Cove passed away Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at Sparks Hospital in Fort Smith.

He was born May 21, 1943 in Old Forester, Arkansas to the late Virgil & Effie Calvert McConnell. He was a retired logger.

Preceded in death by his parents; and step-mother, Elsie McConnell; brothers, Lonnie, Johnny and Billy Joe McConnell, Bob and Cecil Sharp; sisters, Marie Blankenship, Ruby Litsey, Janice Donnell.

Survivor include his wife of 56 years Shirley Mae McConnell; sons, Jimmy McConnell of Carthage MS; Tim & Darda McConnell of Greenwood; granddaughter, Sarah & Ethan Robinson of Greenwood; brothers, Jerry & Beverly McConnell of Havana; sisters, Sarah & Charles White of Ola; Shirley Judkins of Dardanelle; Chris Cunningham of Bakerfield, CA; Linda & Fred White of Belleville; Pam & Tommy Simpson of Russellville; several nephews, nieces and other family members.

Funeral service will be 10 am Friday, June 1, 2018 at the Rover Baptist Church with Bro. Frankie McConnell officiating. Burial will be at Bluffton Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 to 7 pm Thursday, May 31, at the funeral home.

Pallbearers include Jacob Lofland, Ethan Robinson, Jimmy McConnell, Corky McConnell, Joe Dishongh and Bryan Hunnicutt.
