Jo Lynne Bowden, age 86 of Russellville passed away Friday, September 25, 2026 at the Russellville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born August 1, 1940, to A.T. Braden and Josephine E. Wilson Braden. She was the sister of Dale S. Braden, Esq., and the wife of Major Kenneth C. Bowden, United States Army (Retired), whom she married in December of 1959 and shared 52 wonderful years together.

Jo Lynne was the mother of two daughters, Kimberly E. Turner (Colonel Kenneth A. Turner, United States Army (Retired)) and Stephanie M.L. Bowden, Esq., Grandmother of Lieutenant Colonel Jason A. Turner, United States Army (active-duty) (Diana), Matthew C. Turner (Karleen), and Victoria F.E. Turner-Bayles (Ronnie). Great-grandmother of Brisbane A. Turner, Adeline G. Turner, Joellen F. Turner, and Cameron H. Turner.

As an Army wife, Jo Lynne traveled the world, experiencing different countries, cultures, and communities along the way. Those years helped foster a lifelong love of travel and adventure that remained an important part of who she was. She attended the University of Arkansas and went on to enjoy a successful career as a petroleum landman, a profession well suited to her independence, determination, and sharp mind. Jo Lynne also had a lifelong love of Scottish Terriers. She became an accomplished owner, breeder, and handler, devoting countless hours to the breed she loved and taking great pride in her dogs. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Russellville, Arkansas.

Jo Lynne lived life with energy and an unmistakable spirit of adventure. She had a famously heavy foot, loved to go, and rarely needed much encouragement to get in the car and head somewhere. Staying home when there was somewhere to be, something to see, or someone to visit simply was not her style. Her life was marked by independence, determination, devotion to the things she loved, and a willingness to keep moving forward.

A Celebration of Life for Jo Lynne will be held in the spring of 2027. Additional details will be shared with family and friends at a later date.
