Joan Elizabeth Gililland age 75 of Briggsville passed away Thursday, July 9, 2026 at her home.

Joan was born May 29, 1951 in Nova Scotia, Canada to the late Ivan & Velda Matheson MacKay.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard “Dick” Gililland;

parents; brother, Lawrence MacKay; father, Ivan MacKay and mother, Velda Williams; brothers-in-law, Jerry Gililland, Bill Franklin, Don Gililland, Bill Gililland and Stan Crabtree.

Survivors include her children, Jess & Twanna Gililland, Amber & Todd Garner, Laura & Jody Garrison and Richard Gililland; siblings, Julie Gililland, Vaughn & Jolene MacKay and Pat & Lynn MacKay; sisters-in-law, Shirley Crabtree, Jan & Bob Schillinger, Sharon Gililland, Patsy Franklin and Nancy Gililland; grandchildren, Jasmine & Tyler White, Nathan, Kyra, Jailey, Gauge and Gunner, Briston & Katiebeth Yarbrough, Marley and Trey Pledger; and 6 great-grandchildren; host of niece and nephews and special sister-in-law Sharon Stuart.

Memorial service will be 10:00 am Wednesday, July 15, 2026 at Grace Church in Belleville with Logan Ferguson officiation.
