Joe Arthur Cathey age 79 passed away on Sunday, June 5, 2022.

Joe was born September 5, 1942 in Gilkey, Arkansas to Lee and Jodie Mae Harmon Cathey. He retired from Wayne Farms as their Traffic Manager where he worked for 42 years and saw it transition from Joe Ray's Poultry to Wayne Farms. Joe also served 4 years for the Arkansas National Guard.

Joe loved his farm and raised cattle for many years. He was a active member of the First Baptist Church of Danville.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lee and Jodie Cathey; his brother, J.W. Cathey and sister Margie Lee Hall.

He is survived by his loving wife Joyce Eddy Cathey; his son Shawn Alan Cathey (Jan); grandson, Joseph Grant Cathey (Amanda); grandson, Joshua Trent Cathey; one great grandson, Jaxson Reid Cathey; mother-in-law, Rheba Eddy; niece, JoAnn Foster (Harry); nephew, Charles Hall (Anita).

Service will be held at he First Baptist Church in Danville at 2:00 pm Wednesday June 8, 2022. Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Earl Ladd Cemetery.

Pallbearers include Ryan Davis, Joe Taylor, Stephen Foster, Todd Henne, Bob Stanley and Chad Stanley.

Honorary pallbearers include Wayne Sides Sunday School Class.
