Joe Frank Monroe age 88 of Danville passed away Sunday, June 2, 2024 at Mitchell's Nursing Home.
Joe was born June 5, 1935 in Pocahontas around Dow, Oklahoma, to the late Clyde and Ethel Monroe. He was an Army Veteran and a member of the Danville Masonic Lodge.
He married Mary Harris in 1957 and they had two daughters. He was a wonderful husband, dad, son, uncle, grandfather, and friend. He loved his family and lit up like a Christmas tree when he saw the little grandkids.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Mary; brother, Clyde; sister, Betty; and beloved brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law and a niece.
He is survived by his daughters, Kathy & Larry Frazier and Patty & Rusty Defoor; siblings, Sherry Kloeszar, Patricia & Larry Sartin, Bill & Carrie Monroe, June and Terry Haynes; sister-in-law, Doris Majors; grandchildren, Kari & Josh Gossett, Kala & Mike Mitchell, Katie & Spencer Vereen, Kelsey & Dewayne Lytle, Kodi Frazier, Tyson & Amanda Apple; Ashley & Derrick Pledger; great-grandchildren, Tyler, Jordan, Kenna and MaryAnne Apple, Randall and Alexandra Johnston, Parker and Paisley Sheets, Lila Mitchell, Brielle Noakes, Brinley and Greyson Pledger and great-great-granddaughter, Valentina Oblea.
Funeral service will be 2:00 pm Wednesday, June 5, 2024 at the Danville Methodist Church with Derrick Pledger officiating. Visitation will be 1:00 to 2:00 pm before the service at the church.
