John Birkhead John Thomas Birkhead age 88 of Dardanelle died Tuesday, June 12, 2012 at River Valley Medical Center. He was born February 18, 1924 at New Blaine to the late John Thomas and Hatti Smith Birkhead. He was a member of the Dardanelle First Baptist Church, a past member of the Rotary Club and the Lions Club. He loved to Crappie Fish and going to his grandkids ballgames. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Vestal Board; one brother, Jack Birkhead. Survivors include his wife, Helen Barnett Birkhead of Dardanelle; two daughters, Dianna Miller and husband Gordon of Dardanelle; Gerry Summers and husband Mike of Russellville; one sister, Nelle Roper of Russellville; four grandchildren, Leslie Bandy and husband Benton, John Summers, both of Fayetteville, Thomas Miller, James Miller and wife Tiffany all of Dardanelle; six great grandchildren, Harrison Martin, Annabelle Martin, Jack Benton Bandy, Anders Bandy and Walker Bandy all of Fayetteville, Maeleigh Miller of Dardanelle and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at 2:00P.M., Thursday, June 14, 2012 at the Dardanelle First Baptist Church with Bro. Mike Smith officiating. Burial will be in Brearley Cemetery in Dardanelle. Pallbearers: Newell Carter, Bill Pitts, Greg Cain, Lynn Balloun, Jim George, Dean Birkhead.
