J.D. Roberts

John David Roberts age 102 of Dardanelle died Wednesday, March 27, 2019 at his home. He was born November 8, 1916 at Dardanelle, Arkansas to the late Fleming L. and Sarah (Sally) Adcock Roberts. He was a member of the Gum Springs Presbyterian Church, was a farmer and worked for the Arkansas Highway Department for 25 years. He loved gardening and getting to share what he grew with his friends and neighbors. He was preceded in death by his parents; his sweetheart and love of his life since the 4 ^th grade, Louise Roberts; daughter-in-law, Debi Roberts; three brothers, Aubrey, Roy and Junior Roberts and two sisters, Ruby Nell Dugger and Eva Roberts.

Survivors include two children, Tracy Roberts, Joyce Shepherd (Jack); grandchildren, Kelly Shepherd (Kelly), Stacey Craig (Steve), David Roberts (Lara); great grandchildren, Savannah Evans (Matt), Anna Leek (Brandon), Alli Shepherd (Skylar) Sarah Shepherd, Ian Roberts; one great great grandson, Brody Leek and his caregiver, Peggy Ridgeway.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30A.M., Monday, April 1, 2019 at Cornwell Chapel in Dardanelle. Visitation will be held Sunday, 4:00P.M. to 6:00P.M. at the chapel. Burial will be in Brearley Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Kelly Shepherd, Steve Craig, Matt Evans, Chuck Craig, J.L. Martin and Mike Baldwin.
