John William Overfelt age 88 of Rover died Saturday, October 27 ^th 2018 in Danville, Arkansas.

He was born November 8, 1930 on a farm in Callaway County, near Auxvasse, Missouri. Son of the late John E. and Jo Eunice (Meadows) Overfelt. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Catherine L. Walker and a brother, Ralph G. Overfelt.

He retired from the U.S. Navy as a Chief Petty Officer and the U.S. Postal Service as a rural mail carrier on route 1, Danville, Arkansas. He was a member of Plainview Methodist Church, the Plainview Masonic Lodge, and a 32 ^nd Degree Mason KCCH, he also was a member of Plainview VFW Post 8525, Danville American Legion Post 76, the Fleet Reserve Association and past member of the Rover Volunteer Fire Department.

Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Todd E. (Eggers) Overfelt, a daughter, Helen J. Housewright and husband Keith of Saint Jacob, Illinois, a son James R. Overfelt of Albuquerque N.M. grandchildren, John, Alexander, Katharine and Victor Housewright, brother, Robert & Willene Overfelt of Missouri.

Graveside service will be 10:00 am Friday November 2, 2018 at Hunts Chapel Cemetery in Rover. Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 pm Thursday, November 1, at the funeral home.
