Johnnie Mae Cooper age 90 of Rover passed away Tuesday, July 14, 2015 at Chambers Memorial Hospital. She was born January 29, 1925 in Rover, AR. to the late Albert T. & Grace Montgomery Spencer. She was a member of the Rover Methodist Church and a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Lonnie Cooper; parents; sisters, Mable Davenport, infant sisters Ruth Spencer, Tressie Spencer; brothers, Ray Spencer, Roy Spencer, and Jim Spencer. Survivors include sister Nell Davenport of Alexander; nieces, Dana Elliott (Jim) of Ola; Jeanie Sutton (Richard) of Perryville and many great nieces and nephews; longtime friends, Marilyn Walker and Kay Short, whom she thought of as the daughters she never had, along with the other wonderful people she considered family who cared for her at Mitchell's Nursing Home. The celebration of her life and legacy of memories will be held with a graveside service at 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 17, at the Mount Zion Cemetery in Briggsville with Rev. Tom Sullinger officiating.
