Joy Nell Vess Bailey age 87 of Sapulpa, Oklahoma passed away Wednesday, February 27, 2019 at St. John's Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Joy was born November 2, 1931, in Havana, Arkansas to George & Lyddie Clifton Vess. She was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Sand Spring, Oklahoma. She was a mother and homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Ira Dell Hasten; twin brother, Bobby Dale Vess, brothers G.L. Vess, Henry Vess, Emory Vess, Doug Vess and Adrian Vess.

Survivors include her husband of 56 years, Melvin Bailey; sons, Rodney Bailey of Bartlesville, Oklahoma; Glenn Bailey of Belton, Missouri               brother, Carl Vess of Sand Springs, Oklahoma; seven grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be 2:00 pm Friday, March 1, 2019 at the Danville First Baptist Church with Bro. Robert Hailing officiating. Visitation will be 1:00 to 2:00 pm before the service at the church. Burial will be at the Havana Cemetery.
