Joyce Gorman born November 5, 1935 in Tom Nolen, Mississippi, went to be with the Lord on July 15, 2015 at the Arkansas Heart Hospital. Joyce loved serving the Lord and nurturing young people. She was a good listener and always had wise advice. Joyce & Walter were youth pastors for 25 years and were founding pastors of New Life Outreach in Danville, AR in 1988. She loved to garden, can and cook. She enjoyed swimming, reading and crocheting. She cherished spending time with her family and those close to her. She was many things to many people. But ultimately she was an inspiration to everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. Preceded in death by her husband Walter Gorman Sr.; parents, Wister (W.E.) & Lillie (Grant) McCain; sisters, Lucille Hunter; Elaine Cole; brothers, Everett McCain and Dwayne McCain. Survivors include son, Walter Allen (W.A.) Gorman and wife Teresa of Havana; daughters, Lana Lane of Havana; Christy and husband Charles Over Jr. of Russellville; grandchildren, Stephanie Sykes and husband Steve of Bristol, Virginia; Matthew Gorman of Havana; Phoebe Lane of Havana; great-grandchildren, Heather Sykes, Tatum and Maddilyn Gray and Charles Over III; sisters, Evelyn Markel and husband Sonny of Benton; Gail Harp & husband Bill of Benton; brother, Melton McCain of Plainview; a host of nephews, nieces, friends, and all those who knew and claimed her as mother. Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 17, 2015 at the New Life Outreach Church with Rev. Chad Hill and Rev. W.A. Gorman officiating. Burial will be at Havana Cemetery. Visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00 pm Thursday, July 16, at the funeral home. Pallbearers include Gerald Davis, Paul Storts, Mike Apple, Randy Williams, Les Gorman, Salvador Escobar, and Bill Booth.
