Joyce Ann Smith, 79, peacefully passed from this life due to Stomach Cancer, Saturday, September 28th, 2024 in her home surrounded by family members. She was a resident of Dover for 48 years. Joyce was born in Lincoln, California December 15th 1944 to the late Leo Pentney Gaines and Ester

Edwards Gaines. As a long time cherished member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints; she was involved in many groups and organizations. These included Cub Scouts, Girls Camp, Relief Society,

Ministering visits, and Choir. She was a devoted expert in Family History and Temple Service. Joyce worked as a Registered Nurse for St. Mary's hospital for 29 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother (Edward Leo Gaines), two children who died at birth (Rosalys Marie Smith and Wayne

Allen Smith), granddaughter (Avery Kincaid Toussaint), and brother in law (Tom Schleg).

Survivors include her husband of 59 years, Walter Albert Smith; six children, Warren Smith (Ramona), Liesl Palmer (Steve), Arleigh Smith (Melissa), Wayne Smith (Jennifer), Alice O'Neal (Jason), Lenae Toussaint (James); siblings, Frances Schleg, Joan Gaines, Phillas Rich, Ree Hamilton (Larry), and, David Gaines; twenty two grandchildren, Alec, Maddie, Hailey, Logan, Kiley, Vaughn, Megan, Aiden, Kyler, Austin, Royce, Mia, Emily, Mackenzie, Adler, Dallin, Sawyer, Adeline, Wesley, Aja, Mackiah, and Liana; two great grandsons, Eli and Asher; and many other treasured family and friends.

Family conducted memorial services will be held at 10:00A.M., Saturday October 5, 2024 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints located at 200 South Cumberland Avenue, Russellville, AR.
