"J.R." Dunn

“J.R.” Dunn, age 94 of Ozark, Arkansas passed away Wednesday, July 1, 2026 at Mitchell’s Nursing Home in Danville Arkansas.

“J.R.” was born January 26, 1932 in Hunt, Arkansas to the late Ross & Letha Mae Riley Dunn. He was a Navy Veteran, who served as Quartermaster Third Class, under the command of Captain Jefferson Davis and Lieutenant Joy on the USS Cutlass, USS Guavina and USS Amberjack Submarines. He was a retired Electrician and Chief Right-of-Way Agent at Arkansas Valley Electric Cooperative in Ozark, Arkansas from 1967 until his retirement in 1995. He later attended Arkansas Tech University earning his Associate’s degree in HVAC.

He was preceded in death by his devoted wife, Mary Katheen Dunn; parents, Ross Dunn and Letha Dunn Davis; sisters, Pat Riley, and Billie Mae Dunn.

Survivors include his children, Karen Dunn, Steven Dunn, Michael & Connie Dunn, Susan & Mike Beasley, Cindy Dunn and Heather Dunn; brother, Bruce Dunn; grandchildren, Cynthia Forrester, Kyle Forrester, Michael Dunn Jr. Katie Dunn and Kayli Domerese; great-grandchildren, Raegan Kathleen Domerese, Riley Mae Domerese, Remi Ann Domerese, Lydia Dunn and Michael Dunn III.

Burial and memorial service will be at the National Cemetery in Fort Smith, Arkansas at a later date.
