Kathleen Hicks Balloun, 87, passed away Thursday, June 29, 2023 at Russellville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born in Hot Springs, Arkansas to the late Valma Eubanks Hicks and Ervin James "E.J." Hicks. She is preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Kenneth Hicks; and her loving husband of 50 years, Robert "Bobby" Balloun.

Kathleen is survived by her son, Steve (Kelly) Balloun and daughter, Janet (Jeff) Cheatham; grandchildren, Jessica (Johnathan) Cheek, Jeremy Cheatham, Seth Balloun, Jennifer Edwards, and Tyler (Morgan) Balloun; great grandchildren, Presley and Peyton Cheek and Cora and Wesley Edwards.

Kathleen was a teacher and Library Media Specialist at Dardanelle Public Schools for 34 years. She was a member of the Dardanelle Methodist Church, both the Arkansas and Yell County Retired Teachers Associations, and Kappa Kappa Iota Nu Chapter.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00A.M., Monday, July 3, 2023 at the Dardanelle Methodist Church, 100 S. 2nd Street, Dardanelle, Arkansas Bro. Jim Benfer officiating. Visitation will be held Monday, 9:00A.M. to 10:00A.M. at the church prior to the service.

Pallbearers are Frank Ray, Jeff Ray, Steve Sheets, Greg Bartlett, Rowdy Bartlett and Lynn Balloun.

Memorials may be made to the Dardanelle Methodist Church.
