Kelley Gene Austin, 74, of Pottsville died unexpectedly on September 30th,
deeply saddened.
Kelley was born on November 23, 1947, to Wilton and Maurine (Kelley)
Austin in Little Rock, Arkansas. Kelley graduated from North Little Rock
High School in 1965 and was passionate about engineering.
He worked many different jobs throughout his life. He finished his career at
Arkansas Steel in Newport, where he was a Mechanical Engineer. After
retirement he and Judie moved from Newport to Pottsville where they were
members of Pottsville United Methodist church. Kelley was a member of the
Masonic Lodge and the Shriner "Sandhogs" Parade Unit from 1978-2003.
Anyone who knew Kelley, knew that he was incredibly kindhearted. He loved
his family and enjoyed family gatherings. Kelley had an immense passion for
his work but was enjoying the retirement life. He lived a life that made him
quite honestly a jack of all trades from earning his pilot's license to showing
horses and cars. Kelley enjoyed golf, hunting, fishing and being outdoors.
Kelley's family and friends will miss him more than words can say.
Kelley is preceded in death by his parents, his son Mike Austin and his
grandson Thomas Croslow.
He leaves behind his wife of 27 years Judie Land- Austin of Pottsville,
Arkansas. He has one daughter, two sons, and two stepsons: Beth Anne
Billings (Charles David) of Destrehan, Louisiana. William Croslow
(Christina) of Australia. Anthony Stroud of North Little Rock, Arkansas.
James Parker (Polly) of Atkins, Arkansas. Jonathon Parker (Carrie) of
Raeford, North Carolina.
Kelley had 8 granddaughters: Danielle Breaux (Frank), Autumn Billings,
Savannah Billings, Kelly Croslow, Terase Croslow, Julie Faulkner (Cory),
Bryce Parker- Mross (Brandon) and Claudia Parker. 7 grandsons:
Christopher Austin (Sarah), Zachary Croslow, Jacob Croslow, Kyle Stroud,
Caleb Stroud, Geoffrey Parker (Heidi), and Michael Anthoney Parker.
He had 3 great-granddaughters and 4 great grandsons: Charolotte Grace
Breaux, Lily Faulkner, Blair Mross, Braxton Bradley, Myah Faulkner,
Brayland Mross and Dustin Parker.
Kelley had one sister, LaMarilis Blake (Norman) of Beumont, Texas, 2
brothers: Richard Austin (Vickie) of Sherwood, Arkansas and David Austin
of Russellville, Arkansas. He had numerous other family and friends.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Pottsville United Methodist
Church. There will be a Celebration of Life service held at 3 PM, November 5 th
2022 CT at Pottsville United Methodist Church. If you cannot attend the
service, the service will be live streamed, a link will be provided later. His
ashes will be spread at a private ceremony.
