Obituary

Kenneth Wade Pyburn, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on April 18, 2024 at the age of 72. He leaves behind a heritage of love, kindness, and devotion to his family and faith.

Kenneth was born in Danville, AR to Clarence and Virgie (Mott) Pyburn on November 15, 1951.

Kenneth graduated from Ola High School and spent most of his adult life driving and working on big trucks. This experience driving trucks afforded him an uncanny ability to remember highways. He could, off the top of his head, give you a route from A to B without batting an eye. Well, he may have had to reference his Atlas a couple of times, but he was usually right.

It was on October 9, 1970 that he married his wife, Sue (Benefield) Pyburn.

From there, his truest and greatest joy commenced: his family. He loved his sons dearly and his cup overflowed when grandchildren flooded his home for many years. He would often daydream about the 'Pyburn Ponderosa' because he wanted so badly for his family to be close by so he could see them every day. He was patient enough to teach, quick to listen, incredibly slow to anger, and had a stellar sense of humor.

Kenneth was a man of unwavering faith. His relationship with God was the cornerstone of his life, guiding him through both joyous and challenging times. He was a faithful member, deacon, and guitar player at Ola First Free Will Baptist Church.

His passing will leave a gaping hole in the fabric of our family that only the peace and work of God will be able to mend.

Kenneth is survived by his loving wife, Sue (Benefield) Pyburn; his sons, Kenny Pyburn (Lana) of Perryville and Mark Pyburn of Russellville; his sisters, Linda (Pyburn) Lowery (Danny) and Ann (Pyburn) Owens; five grandchildren, Maize (Pyburn) Warren, Alec Pyburn (Jade), Jonathan Billings (Tess), Lauren Pyburn, and Matthew Pyburn; and three great-grandchildren, Rhett Warren, Abigail Billings, and Gracyn Pyburn.

The family deeply appreciates the care and support we received during Kenneth's time in UAMS.

A visitation will be held Monday, April 22, 2024, 1:00P.m. to 2:00P.M. at Ola First Free Will Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held at 2:00P.M., Monday at the church. Kenneth will be buried at Bryant's Cove Cemetery in Pontoon.

Pallbearers will be Leonard Keeling, Kenneth Ivy, Jeff Black, Damion Rogers, Quinton Johnson and Kevin Hampton.

Honorary pallbearers are Alec Pyburn, Matthew Pyburn and Jonathan Billings.
