Lanny Edward Carter, age 75 of the Omega Community, passed away Monday, March 6, 2023 at his home. He was born December 17, 1947 in Omega, Arkansas to the late Ed Carter and Esther Gray Carter. He was a former member of the Associated Milk Producers Incorporated, 1983 Yell County Farm Family of the year, past manager of the North East Yell County Water Association, and the self proclaimed Mayor of Omega. He loved hunting, fishing, taking care of his cows, and the many dogs that lived at the home over the years. Lanny was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Larry Carter; one sister, Rosalie Wear and her husband, John and a nephew, Brad Wear.

Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Alicia Carter of Omega; one daughter, Lana O'Dell (Jeff) of London; one brother, Lelon Carter (Jolynn) of Omega; one sister-in-law, Mamie Carter of Omega; three grandchildren, Haley Sosebee (Steven) of Omega, Landon Whorton (Macie) of Omega, Katelyn O'Dell of Russellville; two great grandchildren, Timothy Murray, Hayes Whorton, both of Omega; five nephews; two nieces and several great and great great nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held at 10:00A.M., Friday, March 10, 2023 at the Mt. George Church of Christ with Bro. Chris George officiating.
