Larry Marice Fink
Larry Marice Fink of Russellville, AR, peacefully passed away on June 14, 2016, in the loving arms of his wife Melinda Martin Fink and the caring hands of the Hospice Palliative Care Unit staff at John L McClellan VA Medical Center. He was born in Russellville October 26, 1949, to the late Marice Fink and Ruth Waid Fink, and grew up in the community of Slo Fork near Dardanelle, AR.
Larry was a proud member of the United States Air Force, and a Vietnam War Veteran. He was father to Sarah Elizabeth Johnson, of Cabot, AR; Bradley Marice Fink, of Katy, TX; and the late Gerran Keith Pyles of Russellville, AR.
Larry was an avid sports fan, most easily remembered for his love of the Arkansas Razorbacks and the New York Yankees. His favorite place in the world was on the field coaching youth baseball and American Legion Baseball. He served as the Commissioner of American Legion Baseball at Post 20 for many years. He loved to hunt and fish and was always at peace in the woods or on the water. Larry was an entrepreneur; a do-it-yourselfer; and an incredibly hard worker who will be remembered for being able to accomplish anything he put his mind to.
Larry was predeceased by his parents and his father-in-law, Ray Martin. He is survived by his wife of 39 ½ years, Melinda; son Bradley Fink and his wife Kasey, along with their two children Barrett and Caroline with a third child expected July 1; daughter Sarah Johnson and her husband Donnie, along with their three sons Xavier, Xander and Brandt; daughter-in-law Alicia Pyles and Gerran's children Hali and Jacob, and 4 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by sisters Beverly Lobb (Jim) of Kansas City, MO; Linda Faris (Philip) of Warren, AR; Judy Vosburg (Dennis) of Angleton, TX; Pat Meyers of Owasso, OK and brother Mark Fink of Russellville. His brother-in-law, Greg Martin (Paula) of Lakeside Park, KY; mother-in-law, Lou Martin, of Russellville and his uncles, nieces, nephews and their children.
Pallbearers are Gary Waid, Tom Lewis, Vince Eshnaur, Allan Criswell, Sam Hughes and Mark Fink.
Services will be led by Pastor Gail Brooks at First United Methodist Church in Russellville at 2pm on Friday, and are under the direction of Cornwell Funeral Home. A time of visitation will follow. There will be a private graveside service at Brearley Cemetery in Dardanelle, AR.
