Larry Don
Hubbard
May 15, 1947 – December 14, 2024
Larry Don Hubbard, a devoted husband, loving father, and beloved pillar of his community, passed away peacefully at home on December 14, 2024. Born on May 15, 1947, to the late Don and Alice Cody Hubbard in the small town of Rose Creek, Larry's life was a testament to his unwavering faith and deep commitment to those he loved. He dedicated a significant part of his life to Grace Creek Missionary Baptist Church, serving not only as a charter member but also as an ordained Deacon, always extending a helping hand to those in need.
Larry is survived by his devoted wife of 56 years, Nancy Ruth Hubbard, three children: Cheryll Kirkland, Brian Hubbard (Racheal) and Jennifer Hall (Brian), six grandchildren: Meghan Black (Jeff), Justin Hubbard (Kayleigh), Blake Hubbard, Hunter Hall, Hannah Bradford (Rhett), Harrison Hall and 2 great-grandchildren Peyton and Bryson Black; along with one brother, Chris Hubbard (Cindy).
A master carpenter by trade, Larry had an extraordinary talent for crafting beautiful pieces from wood that will stand the test of time—much like the values he instilled in his family. He took immense pride in every project he undertook and found joy in sharing those skills with others. His hands were as skilled at building as they were at creating lasting bonds within his family.
Larry's heart belonged to nature. He loved hunting trips where stories flowed as freely as the ponds he fished alongside friends and family alike. Those moments spent outdoors became treasured tales shared during family gatherings or quiet evenings at home—a testament to how much he valued connection over competition.
Larry's storytelling ability was legendary among those fortunate enough to gather around him. With each tale spun from days gone by—whether it was about adventures taken or lessons learned, he brought history alive for younger generations while reminding everyone present just how important it is to hold onto our roots.
He leaves behind not only family but also friends who were fortunate enough to know such genuine kindness during their own journeys through life. As we say goodbye today – and reflect upon what it means without him – we find solace knowing that love never truly fades away – it remains alive within our hearts forever.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00P.M., Wednesday, December 18, 2024 at Grace Creek Missionary Baptist Church. Visitation will be held Wednesday, 1:00P.M. to 2:00P.M. at the church prior to the service. Burial will be in Hamilton Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Jeff Black, Justin Hubbard, Blake Hubbard, Hunter Hall, Rhett Bradford, and Harrison Hall.
