Laura Sue "Susie" Taylor

Laura Sue “Susie” Taylor, age 74 of Dardanelle, passed away Thursday, June 4, 2026 at her home. She was born on November 15, 1951 to Joe John Chivers and Mary Hardcastle Chivers. She graduated in 1973 from Arkansas Tech University in Russellville, where she had met her beloved husband Ron on a blind date. They were married on July 7, 1973. She was an elementary school teacher in Dardanelle for many years. She was a longtime member of the First Presbyterian Church of Dardanelle.

She loved spending time with and spoiling her grandchildren who called her “Sue Sue,” going to John John’s school events and ball games, decorating her home for holidays, and living on the lake with Ron. She loved all things that were the color blue. Susie is fondly remembered for her caring and thoughtful nature, and for making people feel special and remembered. She never forgot a birthday or special occasion, always sending a card, balloon, or gift to those she loved. She had a wonderful laugh that everyone knew and loved. She was a steadfast and loving caregiver for Ron in his later years, and we are at peace knowing that they are together again in eternity.

Susie was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Ronald Lynn Taylor; her father, Joe John Chivers; her sister-in-law, Nita Kendrick; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Albert and Addie Mae Taylor, and several cherished aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Survivors left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Kami Taylor Coleman (David), and her son Kyle Lynn Taylor (Laura Safdie); her mother, Mary Chivers; her sister, Jo Ellen Stodola (Mark); four beloved grandchildren, John Aubrey Albert Coleman, Ryan Taylor Coleman, Ari Lynn Taylor, and Maya Iona Taylor; her brother-in-law Robert Taylor (Judy); her sister-in-law Becca Taylor Manatt (Jeffery), her brother-in-law Larry Kendrick, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Graveside services will be held for the family on Thursday, June 11 at 12:00 p.m. Pallbearers will be her nephews and great nephews.

Memorial donations in her honor can be made to Durvin Cemetery, P.O. Box 358, Dardanelle, Arkansas, 72834.
