LaVina Marie Dawson Warren
LaVina Marie Dawson Warren, age 87, of Dardanelle, Arkansas, passed away peacefully on June 28, 2026, while under hospice care at Brookdale Senior Living of Russellville. LaVina was born on November 4, 1938, in Louisville, Kentucky, to Ervin Samuel Dawson, Sr. and Bertie Ione McAdoo Dawson. She was a faithful Baptist and a devoted member of Dardanelle First Baptist Church.
On October 23, 1960, she married the love of her life, John Marshall Warren. Together they shared many years of love and devotion until his passing in 2009. LaVina dedicated her career to serving others as a Registered Nurse in Public Health for the State of Arkansas, retiring after more than twenty years of service. She had a servant’s heart and continued caring for others throughout her life.
LaVina enjoyed crocheting and lovingly made prayer shawls with her church group. She was known for making the best spaghetti and fried chicken and treasured spending time with family and friends. She also loved drawing, reading, and caring for her plants. Her kindness, creativity, and unwavering faith touched the lives of all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Marshall Warren, and her parents, Ervin Samuel Dawson, Sr. and Bertie Ione McAdoo Dawson.
She is survived by her children, Leslie Mori and husband John Mori, Hope Barber and husband David Barber, and John D. Warren; grandchildren Courtney Nelson, Michael Taylor (Haili), Neil Taylor, and Gillian Thompson (Ross); great-grandchildren Sarah Beth Russell and Brayden Cline; along with numerous extended family members and dear friends.
LaVina’s family will forever remember her gentle spirit, steadfast faith, and the love she shared so freely.
Visitation will be held Monday, July 13, 2026, 5:00P.M. to 7:00P.M. at Cornwell Funeral Chapel in Dardanelle. Memorial services will be held Tuesday, July 14, 2026, 2:00P.M. at Cornwell Funeral Chapel in Dardanelle.
