Obituary

Lawrence Edward Patton, 81, of Russellville, Arkansas, died Sunday, May 29th, 2016. The son of Earl and Willie (Ramey) Patton, he was born at Havana, Arkansas, on June 3rd, 1934. He attended business school in Little Rock. He married Ola Mae (McBride) Patton on December 28, 1956. He was a United States Army Veteran, and worked in a variety of positions in the Agribusiness field, including superintendent of the Con-Agra Hatchery and Feed Mill at Atkins, Arkansas, from which he retired in September 1998. He raised cattle and chickens, and owned Patton Construction Company. He was a member of the Fifth and Greenwich Church of Christ in Russellville. He was a man of many interests and talents, including fishing, camping, cabinet and furniture making, and painting.

Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Ola Mae Patton; one sister, Owreta (Patton) Turner of Little Rock, Arkansas; one son, Doug Patton of Tulsa, Oklahoma; two daughters, Jan (Patton) Peeler and husband Matt of Russellville, Arkansas, and Terri (Patton) Shaw and husband Arnold "Buck" of Church Road, Virginia; one grandson, Kevin Peeler of Russellville, Arkansas; four granddaughters: Kaitlin Shaw of Texarkana, Arkansas; Erin (Shaw) Lovan and husband Nick of Russellville, Arkansas; Ashley (Peeler) Whorton and husband Charlie of White Hall, Arkansas; and Sarah Patton of Kailua Kona, Hawaii; and two poodles, Sunny and Sissy.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00P.M., Thursday, June 2, 2016 at Cornwell Chapel in Dardanelle with Bro. Dan Lightfoot officiating. Burial will be in Havana Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday, 1:00P.M. to 2:00P.M. at the chapel prior to the service.

Grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to 5th and Greenwich Church of Christ, 620 East 5th Street, Church of Christ Building Fund, Russellville, Arkansas 72801.
