Lonnie G. Dickens age 78 of Dardanelle died Thursday, July 18, 2013 at Atkins nursing and Rehab Center. He was born November 4, 1934 in Dardanelle to the late Herman and Della Mae Thompson Dickens. He was retired from Contel Communication and was a member of Dardanelle Unity Missionary Baptist Church. Lonnie loved to fish and lending a helping hand to people in the community when they needed it. He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his son, Gary Dickens and wife Claire of West Covina, California; grandchildren, Gary Jr., Blake and Lawrence Dickens all of Las Vegas, Nevada, Felicia Williams and Johnny Kirk both of West Covina, California; great-granddaughter, Kyra Dickens of Las Vegas, Nevada; one uncle, Isadore Thompson of Dardanelle; one aunt, Gladys Richardson of Dardanelle; cousins, Richard Taylor and wife Betty, James O. Woods and wife Cynthia, James Earl Thompson and wife Regina, Willa Webster and husband William, Pearl Moore and husband Jewell, Jane Johnson and Mae Dorothy Thompson all of Dardanelle and many other relatives and friends. Funeral Services will be held 10:00AM, Monday July 22, 2013 at Cornwell Chapel in Dardanelle with Rev. Marvin Thompson officiating. Burial will be in Nebo Cemetery in Dardanelle. Visitation will be held from 9:00AM to 10:00AM prior to the service. Pallbearers will be Richard Taylor, James O. Woods, O.J. Woods, Robert Woods, John Freeman, Jamie Young and Jerry Thompson.
