Louis Edwin
Pitts
February 11, 1933 – May 18, 2021
Louis Edwin Pitts, 88, of Ola left this earth on May 18, 2021. He was Born on February 11, 1933 to the late Jim and Leslie Pitts. Louis was an industrious, God-fearing, artist and creator who loved his family.
Louis retired from Deltic Timber Corporation where he worked hard to make a life for his late wife Lizz and his family. He was a retired member of the volunteer fire department and an active member of the First Baptist Church of Ola. He could often be found creating or repairing just about anything. If he wasn't at home drawing or making music, Paw could often be found at "The Y" or a local junk sale where he worked diligently to expand his collection of treasures. A kid at heart, he was always there to jump from behind a corner or playing pranks on those he loved. He enjoyed baseball, horses, drawing, Chinese Food, and spending time with his family and friends.
He was strong in his convictions, dedicated, and firmly believed in making a way for yourself. He was a supportive man that loved his family with everything he had. Paw wouldn't always give you the answer you wanted but rather the answer that you needed to push you to come out a better person. He instilled work ethic and honor, love, stubbornness, and a softness into his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren that will never be forgotten.
Louis was preceded in death by his late wife, Lizz; brothers, Bobby Joe Pitts, Alford Pitts, Henry Pitts, James Pitts; sisters, Eva John Pifer, Jesse Vann, Janice Bryant, Thelma Butler and Betty Clay.
He is survived by his wife, Sherian Carter-Pitts; children, Susan Pitts, Stephen and wife Mary Pitts, Stacy Pitts, Jeannie and husband James Bryant, Carla and husband Steve Brown; grandchildren, Cody.
