June 16, 1942 – April 23, 2022
Mae R. Harkey 79 of Dardanelle went to her eternal home on April 23, 2022 after a 9 year battle with ovarian cancer. Mae was born June 16, 1942 to the late Arthur and Nettie Baker of Plainview Arkansas, where she grew up with 5 brothers and 5 sisters. Mae was a devoted wife and loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was always patient and kind with a beautiful smile on her face. She had an amazing personality and made friends easily. Many of these were folks she met while working at Marva Workshop. Everyone loved Mae. She loved to work in her flower beds and gave extra special care to her roses. On a sunny day you would find her on the front porch in her swing. Mae loved spending time with family and friends. Mae especially lover her Savior Jesus Christ whom she accepted April 21, 1972 in a Pentecostal church.
Mae is survived by her husband Walter Harkey, two sisters, Bonnie Berry of Russellville and Frankie Schmit of Plainview and one brother Kenneth Baker of Tulsa Oklahoma.
Also four daughters Margaret Terrel of Bella Vista, Donna Gaddy of Atkins, Karla (Dale) Foshee of Atkins, and Kim (Tony) Reeves of Atkins, 12 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren.
Mae was preceded in death by her sisters Lois Stapleton and Mary Jane Baker, her brothers Vick, Paul, John and Edward Baker, her granddaughter Angela Reed and three great granddaughters Jade, Mica, and Kyra Reed and a stepson Wally Harkey.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, 5:00P.M. to 7:00P.M. at Apostolic Lighthouse in Dardanelle. Funeral service will be held at 2:00P.M., Thursday, April 28, 2022 at Apostolic lighthouse in Dardanelle with Rev. Kenny Long and Rev. Bob Houghton officiating. Burial will follow at Salem Cemetery in Plainview.
Pallbearers: Tony Reeves, Dale Foshee, Melvin Johnsgard, Nathan Reeves, Justin Khanhthamany, Keith Willis.
Honorary Pallbearers will be her grandkids.
