Malinda Emmalee "Linda" Stewart age 86 of Greenwood, Arkansas left to meet her Lord and Savior Saturday, September 28, 2024, surrounded by loved ones.

Linda was born September 29, 1937 in Malden Missouri to the late Huel & Della McKay Benton. She was a proud member of the Denver Street Baptist Church, Greenwood.  Linda retired five times!  Most recently from Malden City Utilities.  She was preceded in death by her husband Jay Stewart; sons, Paul Allen and Ronnie Allen; and sister, Sherron Holloway.

Survivors include her children, Jim & Betty Allen, Marty & Kathy Allen, Randy & Kim Allen, Jeff & Vicky Allen, Dale & Robbie Stewart Ball; brother, Huel Benton Jr.; 13 grandchildren, many great-grands; and treasured nieces and nephews.

Linda made a big impact on the lives of others.  She was an advocate of literacy and helped local Laotian immigrants learn to read and write English and pass their citizenship test.  Linda was one of the founding members of MAAPS, the Military Museum and Veteran's Wall in Malden, Missouri, at the former Malden Air Base.  She and the committee members spent hours and hours cleaning bricks for the Wall.  Linda also served as a Board Member and a Court Appointed Special Advocate for neglected and abused children, in Missouri and Arkansas.  She was an active member of any community in which she lived.

Visitation will be at Cornwell Funeral Home, Danville, Arkansas from 1:30 to 2:00pm Wednesday, October 2, 2024, with graveside service at  2:30 pm, Earl Ladd Cemetery, Danville, Arkansas.
