Marilyn Cogburn

Marilyn Kay Cogburn, age 70 of Fayetteville, passed away on August 16, 2019 surrounded by her loving family.  She was born on August 30, 1948 in Danville, Arkansas, to the late James Woodrow and Ruth Bernice Mathis Patterson.  Marilyn was a member of the Center Street Church of Christ in Fayetteville and a graduate of Arkansas Tech with a Bachelor's degree in Langauge Arts.  She married the love of her life, Johnny Cogburn, on December 31, 1970 in Morrilton, and she was an English teacher for over 30 years in Arkansas and Texas.  She was preceded in death by her parents, and one brother, Danny Ray Patterson.

Survivors include her husband, Johnny Cogburn; three daughters, Shelly Cogburn, Leslie Cogburn and Rachel Cogburn Tracy (Matt); two sisters, Jan Chenowith (Al) and Patsy Richards (Art); two brothers, David Patterson and James "Snooky" Patterson (Beverly); one granddaughter, Myra Belle Baugh; one uncle, Duell Mathis (Irma) and many other relatives and close friends.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Monday, August 19, 2019 at the Dardanelle Church of Christ with Bro. Mark Auten and Bro. Ralph Weinhold officiating.  Burial will be in Brearley Cemetery at Dardanelle. Visitation will be held from 9:30 A.M. to 10:30 A.M. prior to the service.

Pallbearers will be Phil Moudy, Matt Tracy, Brent Chenowith, Brian Chenowith, William "Woody" Wood and Joe Hissom.

Honorary Pallbearer will be Josh Richards.
