Marilyn Tippin

Marilyn Elizabeth Martin Tippin, R.N., of Ola, a loving and devoted mother, grandmother and registered nurse; who dedicated her life to caring for and meeting the needs of others, passed away peacefully at the age of 89 on, Saturday, January 6, 2018 at Deerview Nursing and Rehabilitation in Ola. She was born July 19, 1928 at Adona, Arkansas to the late George Otto Martin, Sr. and Irene Harkey Martin. She was a member of the Ola Church of Christ. Marilyn was past owner of Yell County Nursing Home where she served as Administrator and Director of Nursing. She followed her Paternal Grandfather, Dr. G.A.E. Martin, whom she greatly admired as a healthcare provider. She obtained her degree as a Registered Nurse by attending Arkansas Tech University and Baptist School of Nursing in Little Rock. She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Barry Neil Tippin; one brother, George Otto Martin, Jr. and the father of her children George Tippin.

Survivors include two sons, Ritchie L. Tippin (Gail) of Ola and Philip B. Tippin, MD (Shelly, MD) of Dardanelle; one daughter-in-law, Diane Tippin of Ola; one brother, Damon GH Martin, MD of Ola; one sister-in-law, Cathy Martin of Adona; seven grandchildren, Zac Tippin, MD (Shelly) of Fort Smith, Ashley Tippin Warrick (Patrick) of Ola, Taylor Tippin of Dardanelle, Alex Tippin of Dardanelle, Dustin Tippin (Kim) of Missouri, Brittany Tippin West (Dr. Geoff) of Berryville and Jon Dylan Tippin (Elyse) of Russellville; seven great grandchildren, Hannah Tippin, Katelyn Tippin, Kelsey Tippin all of Missouri, Gavin West and Beau Barry West both of Berryville, Levi Welsh and Asher Tippin both of Russellville.

Funeral services will be held 10:00AM Tuesday, January 9, 2017 at the Ola Church of Christ with Bro. John McCourt officiating. Burial will be in Liberty Cemetery at Adona. Visitation will be held from 9:00AM to 10:00AM before the service.

Pallbearers will be: Zac Tippin, MD, Dustin Tippin, Dylan Tippin, Alex Tippin, Patrick Warrick and Dr. Geoff West.
